How to apply Print
For your application to be considered, it must include:

  • a completed application cover sheet (you can download this - we suggest you read this page first)
  • a brief description of your organisation, what you plan to do with this grant and what you hope it will achieve
  • a budget for the item/s or project for which you are seeking a grant (if this fits your situation)
  •  a copy of your latest annual accounts, preferably audited (it would be useful to explain if you have any “tagged” reserves).

While not essential, it would also be helpful to:

  • include your most recent annual report
  • tell us if you are also seeking funding for this purpose elsewhere, and if so, from where
  • tell us about how your group measures the results of its activities, and what this shows
  • include anything else you think would help inform us about your group.

If your organisation is applying for the first time, please also include copies of:

  • your certificate of incorporation (groups yet to be formally incorporated may apply under the umbrella of an incorporated organisation)
  • your constitution, rules or trust deed
  • any evidence that your group has charitable status.

Please send your application by post or courier (not fax) to:

J R McKenzie Trust
P O Box 10 006
Level 4, Local Government Building
114 Lambton Quay
Wellington.

It takes up to three months from the closing date for us to advise you of the result of your application.
